Established in 1970, The Toy Chest was started on Main Street in Nashville, Indiana displaying owner Ed Hollis's model of the Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus. In 1988 the circus was destroyed in a fire, and The Toy Chest moved to its Brown County location in The Artist Colony Shops. In July 2014, Hilary Key took

ownership of The Toy Chest. Together with her husband, Danny, and other wonderful employees; she carries on the Brown County tradition of The Toy Chest. In November of 2015, Danny and Hilary decided to open a new, larger store in the College Mall in Bloomington, Indiana

Thank you, Bloomington!

This was in the Herald Times SIX years ago! 😮

So much has changed since then (two store fronts opened and closed, two kids, a holiday catalog, a pandemic, Bloomington delivery…) but our ❤️love❤️for our Bloomington community has only grown.

2021 is the best year in our 51 year history, and it wouldn’t be without Bloomington’s support.

THANK YOU for making us Bloomington’s local toy store for the past 6 years—whether we’ve been there in a physical location or connecting virtually and delivering to your homes.
