I'm seriously impressed. As a comic book seller, I sit in on a lot of comic book auctions and chat with the sellers and the artists. The day I brought this Orlando Megacon exclusive book I was chatting about being in the hospital. When the book arrived I saw that Kyle had not autographed the book but wrote a note on it. Now instead of a limited 1:50 it is a unique 1:1. That's awesome!!!

I have had a few friends ask about having me sell their comic books for them. I don't mind doing that but .....

The average person tends to get upset when I tell them their prized copy of Batman is worth about $1. They see the eBay listings for $20 - $30 for the same issue and assume I am trying to cheat them.

Most don't understand that collectors rarely read a new book more than once (if at all) and never without protective gloves. The books get sent to a grading house like CGC where they are evaluated, graded and sealed into a plastic slab, never again to be touched by oily human fingers.

If you are interested in how your books would fair, here is a link discussing basic grading. Notice how quickly the grade drops if there is a staple dent or a fold from reading or (heaven forbid) a dog ear!

The variety of comic books is amazing. I just found this one. If I had it professionally graded it would be about twice the current asking price. It looks like the days of kids Comics are going by the wayside. Bummer.

Hard to believe that a whole month has gone by since I started putting comic books in the store. In the last few weeks I have learned a lot about comics. To get inventory I started watching the real time comic auctions to see what the collectors are buying.

When I think of comics what comes to mind are those old Archie and Jughead very basic cartoon type comic books. But what I've learned now is that the collectors don't collect them to read they collect them for the covers. There's one I brought that the last three pages show the 36 different covers that were printed for that same book.

It's not quite a year. But the store is reopening!!
There have been a lot of changes in the personal life but, hopefully, the quiet time has started where the store can take more center stage.

These guys almost fooled me into wasting money. At the very, very bottom of the page it says composition: alloy.

These are Chinese fakes that say they are .999 silver but are actually silver plated base metal worth about $1.50 each. It is actually illegal to sell them in the US.
