Big fall overhaul coming to my booth in the upstairs loft of Bits & Pieces this Saturday (9/5)!

I know it’s hard to think past this oppressive heat, so I’m dropping a mix of light silks & linens you can enjoy now through the fall as transition pieces, as well as vintage leather jackets and cozy knits to enjoy when the cooler weather eventually rolls in.

Celebrate National Thrift Shop Day this Saturday at Habitat ReStore of Williamson County & GraceWorks Thrift VIPs and you could win gift certificates to BOTH stores! 🧡

Here’s how to participate:
• Visit both the GraceWorks Ministries Thrift Store and The Habitat ReStore of Williamson County on Saturday, August 15th.
• Pick up a punch card from either store (1 per person) and receive a stamp by visiting each location.
• Turn in your completed punch card at whichever store is your last stop.
• Three winners will be drawn and contacted on Monday, August 17 (National Thrift Day) to receive gift certificates from both stores.

When I’m getting dressed, I think of my outfit in terms of either proportion balancing or style mixing.

I’m naturally pear shaped, but my clothing doesn’t always have to reflect that. For example, a tee with shoulder pads paired with a pair of wide-leg, high-rise sailor jeans gives the illusion of an hour glass, while an oversized jacket paired with straight-leg jeans and a pair of pointed boots can give the illusion of a more triangular body shape.

When I mix styles, I often consider opposites and how that can bring balance to my outfit. My favorite mix right now is a loose, athletic item + a beautiful feminine item + something structured or utilitarian. It feels different and random, but to me and the outfits I’ve been putting together, it works and it’s fun!

AND every single element of every single outfit is thrifted/secondhand 🌟
