We are saddened to learn of the passing of master luthier Jonathan Cooper of Portland, ME. Cooper left his permanent mark on the world of violin making and playing, near and far. The Violin Shop and Jonathan had a close working relationship over a number of years, placing instruments into the hands of some of the top players in the fiddle world. It is a joy to work on every Cooper that crosses our bench.

We send our deepest condolences to his wife, family, and friends. May his fiddles continue to sing for centuries to come!
