No one really talks about the moments that stop you in your tracks. The ones you don’t fully understand at the time, but carry with you for years.

A decade ago, I was walking through Hillsboro Village and saw blue pinwheels everywhere.

I stopped. Looked closer.
And realized they were for Child Abuse Prevention Month 💙

That moment stuck with me.

At the time, I had never spoken about my own story. Not publicly. Not really at all.

But something about it stayed. Quietly. For literal years.

And now, it’s something we choose to talk about at Poppy & Peep. Every April.

Because prevention starts with something simple but powerful. Community.
When children and families are supported, safe, and seen, everything changes.

This month, we’re partnering with Our Kids Center & Child Advocacy Center of Rutherford County.

Both are organizations that supported me when I was a child. And now, it feels important to support them in return.
