British-born and now based in Charleston, Aldous is known for his confident use of color and pattern and a distinctly British approach to interiors that favors mixing over matching. With a Ph.D. in historic design from the University of Cambridge, he brings a deep appreciation for history to spaces that feel layered, personal and collected over time. His firm’s work has been featured in , and .
His work spans interiors, art and product design, and his book, “Dragons & Pagodas: A Celebration of Chinoiserie,” explores the history and enduring influence of chinoiserie from the 18th century to today.
