๐ถ๏ธ๐ฅฌ Ever wondered what makes ornamental peppers and ornamental cabbage different from the vegetables you grow to eat?
๐ถ๏ธ Ornamental peppers are bred primarily for their colorful, decorative fruits rather than flavor. While some varieties are technically edible, they can be extremely hot or have a less desirable taste, so theyโre best enjoyed as a beautiful garden accent!
๐ฅฌ Ornamental cabbage is also edible in a technical sense, but itโs grown for its gorgeous colorful leaves and rosette shape rather than as a tasty kitchen crop. The leaves tend to be tougher and more bitter than culinary cabbage.
The big advantage? Both are fantastic for adding long-lasting fall color to containers, beds, and porch displays here in Zone 7! ๐โจ
