I used to get so stuck in unrest that I felt burnt out 24/7 for months - but the practice in the cycle of passion and rest changed everything. Despite what many believe about themselves, we are all creatively driven beings, in many different lights and colors. Creativity is a wild little monster. It’s not something you can demand. It is a muscle, and pushing through mental barriers is often good + necessary for those pursuing creative work, but sometimes your mind needs rest. When it does, you don’t have to prove yourself to anyone, explain yourself, in order to feel your need is valid, you just rest & know your world doesn’t depend on your ability to create in that specific moment. The world can wait for you. Slow down when you need it, let what you do remain passionate. Initial flames of passion start us along out pursuits, but don’t feel afraid or ashamed when those flames die down in a season.
