As we wrap up National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, we’re recognizing some of the people who keep Living Earth moving. 🚛

Across our markets, our drivers spend their days moving materials between locations and getting products where they need to go. And they’re not doing it alone. Our heavy equipment operators are instrumental to the process, running the loaders, grinders and other equipment that keeps material moving long before it hits the road.

This video features just some of our drivers, but the appreciation extends to every driver and equipment operator across Living Earth.

The days are getting shorter... The upside (besides cooler weather)? The show starts earlier. 🌙

September is giving Middle Tennessee plenty of reasons to look up! Between now and September 20, watch the Moon move past Antares (the reddish star at the heart of Scorpius) and toward the “Teapot” in Sagittarius. If it's especially dark in your area, you may see the hazy center of the Milky Way rising like steam from the Teapot.

And there’s to look forward to: fall officially arrives September 22, followed by the Harvest Moon on September 26 with Saturn shining nearby.

Hard to believe it was just last week! 🌿🦋

Tennessee lost a treasure today. 💔

It’s hard to imagine Tennessee without Dolly Parton. She came here with songs and big dreams and went on to become one of the most beloved artists in the world. But what made Dolly so special was everything that came with the music: the humor, the kindness, the generosity and a love for Tennessee that never seemed to waver.

She opened doors for countless people, and through efforts like the Imagination Library, helped open books for millions of children, too.

From the mountains of East Tennessee to Music City and far beyond, what a mark she made.

Thank you, Dolly. Tennessee won’t be quite the same without you. ❤️

Keep tomatoes and jalapeños hydrated during August heat - use this simple trick to turn plastic water bottles into slow-drip irrigators. ☀️ 🍅 🌶️

Here’s how (trial and error is often part of the process!):
💧 Cut the bottom off a 2 liter plastic bottle.
💧 Use a hot needle to poke a tiny hole in the bottle's lid. Secure lid back onto the bottle.
💧 Cut off the bottom or make a flap so you can fill with water as needed.
💧 Cut the bottom off a second 2 liter plastic bottle, remove cap, and nest the first bottle inside the second cap-less bottle (this system helps prevent clogging).
💧 Face the nested bottles upside down several inches into the soil next to your tomato plant roots.
💧 Lift the flap and fill the interior bottle with water so moisture will slowly reach the roots instead of running off the surface.

Pair with a layer of organic mulch to help reduce evaporation and keep soil temperatures more consistent during Tennessee’s hottest weeks.
