Here I am, almost 62, and gearing up for the next chapters in our story. Do I wish I could retire, you bet. I’m tired from the hard knocks of life, but you know what my life has given me? Incredible joy amid some really tough circumstances. And sharing joy with you is my life’s mission.

My Joy Box is the one project that I wish would just take off and spread like wildfire. Imagine if I had people on a wait list! Imagine is I was able to mail 30 or more boxes a month. Imagine all the joy traveling to your doorstep. That’s the goal.

The joy is for me as well. Though this project has stretched me and made me dig deep, it’s been a highlight for me amid so pretty dark days. One day I hope I can lay down the artistry as a job, but without major miracles it won’t happen anytime soon.

So, I want your support. I’m opening the doors until tomorrow night for the October Joy Box. $58 includes your shipping for a box worth around $150! I make every single item that goes in the box with a few exceptions. Each month I choose a theme, paint the artwork and then create handmade goods and jewelry that supports the theme.

Then I make the box beautiful and ship them to your doorstep. Each month you help support my creativity and each month I deliver the joy.

My Joy Box subscription is open and I’d love to have you as a subscriber. This project has been a beautiful life saver for my business. I created this a year and a half ago to help me navigate the toughest season of my life. It’s made such a difference. I’m so grateful.

But…I’m always looking for more people who believe in me and want to show their support for the work that I do.

I am almost 62, and I’m rebelling! But don’t worry, it’s all in a good way. I’m tired of the niche discussion. Artists don’t fit into niches. That’s just my option. I’ve decided to chase a dream I have loved for most of my life. Finding thrifted & vintage home decor and reselling my treasures.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my guitar string jewelry, but my long season of hardship almost destroyed us. I can’t create like I once did because I’ve been so strapped. In fact, that’s why I have opened the door to custom orders.

I’m still pushing my Joy Box subscription. This has helped me pay my rent every month. I still don’t have the number I hope for, but I am immensely grateful for those who have supported me month after month!

There’s a new chapter coming for me, but I can’t reveal it just yet. Soon though.

Every month I focus a lot of energy on creating my Joy Boxes, and every month the project brings me so much happiness. I created this not only as a patron program for my business, but as a way to lift those women who are carrying heavy loads. My heart is especially interested in lifting the caregivers of the world. Women like me!

This box isn’t just for caregivers through, it’s for any women whose heart carries deep burdens or whose storms are so great that you can’t talk about it.

Just popping in to share a few thoughts. Working hard on the Joy boxes for September. They will he ready to ship by the 5th! Invoices go out tomorrow. I’m so pleased to have a core group of women supporting me every single month.

Maybe you haven’t noticed. Maybe you haven’t even missed my silence. Maybe it doesn’t matter anymore.

I’m being quiet because I’ve raised my voice for so long. I’m tired. I need peace and quiet and joy. So much joy!

Joy remains my focus every single day. Through hardship and ongoing challenges, I grab ahold of every ounce so I can find my smile.

Thanks for being here. Don’t give up on me. I need every person who cares to stay. I need orders and joy box subscribers. I’m letting go and trusting that I will make it through.

Oh gosh, the tears slipped from my eyes when I heard the news. Dolly was a treasure of a human. Gracious, kind, generous, humanitarian, dreamer and incredible writer.

When we were vending in 12 South Nashville, her studio was right across the street. I’d always say if she walked by that she’d love my jewelry and I would have graciously given her anything. But we never got to meet. I think heaven will be sweeter with her there. Nashville won’t be the same without you Dolly Parton! We will always love and miss you and your special voice!

Butterflies! Who doesn’t love them? This is one of my latest watercolor paintings and it’s the theme for the September Joy Box. Don’t worry, the box isn’t finished. I seem to be having a bit of a problem finalizing all the items I want to include. The August Box was so amazing and I think maybe I just got side tracked with all I’m trying to accomplish these days.

A butterfly charm bracelet is coming. I am still waiting on one component before I can make them.

So, give me your best suggestions for the final items (maybe one or 2) that I should include in the box.

This week was special and for the first time in a long time it felt like the life I used to have as a creative & artist. I can’t begin to tell you how good it felt.

Then there’s the wonderful reselling that I’ve started doing and it’s been so rewarding and fun. I have always loved vintage and secondhand and now I get to share my finds with my customers.

My heart literalist has needed to recalibrate and take some deep breathes. There is such a thing as good anxiety. The kind where you get so excited because things are flourishing.

Well, this was my week and I’m so grateful. Keep praying for me friends. We still need some miracles to get caught up, but I believe it’s coming. How was your week. Comment and let’s hold each other up. I’m so thankful for you all!
