More to the story to write and share later, but here’s all you need to know about the blur of this past weekend. With two separate hours of trying to sleep and not, finally sleeping for 4 hours after I pretty much needed an ice bath with clothes on when I severely overheated at 91 miles, I completed the final Mo Bell 100 miler race by the wonderful in just under 48 hours! What an experience. Good stories, great people, unforgettable moments, and I’m happily retired from something else in my life after the one and done Ironman in 2010.

Whenever I get stressed about politics or sports or humans, it’s very comforting knowing all I have to do is walk or jog around community and see how others who truly care about humanity over ego feel too. Also, I heard Soul Asylum this morning and it made me appreciate seeing them at Dancing in the District in high school and the altruistic message in their big Runaway Train video. Random, but grateful.

Didn’t get a picture with all the friends or just beside my forever main date, but could it be a better date night than going to an art gallery to listen to activists/candidates who actually inspire us and work for the sake of others over themselves (thanks to Megan Barry, Molly Secours, and Susan Tinney) and then dancing in perfect weather to My Morning Jacket and Nathaniel Rateliff? The answer is no, at least for yesterday. Here’s to whatever comes from today with renewed hope and extra positive friend fuel. Always grateful for the friends and blessed relationships we have had since day 1 this round.

Fascinating for me to drive my son to school most days and see a council member walking their kids to their school on one side of the street before going to work and then a guy from our neighborhood who lives with his mom and walks in the opposite direction towards 5 Points to drink and ask for money from tourists all day every day on the other side of the street. I know they don’t know each other, but I know both more than they know me. Probably a story there ☺️

Also, Oogie Boogie is still at our house.
