It is official. The Nashville PowerShell Group is moving to the Microsoft Store at The Mall at Green Hills. The setup is going to be in the middle of the store on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:00 pm. Some have asked if the store will be closed for our sessions and the answer is no. There will be customers in there while we hold our session. This should help the group get more involved in the community by getting more exposure. They can also provide us with live streaming so we can reach members that are unable to attend. As usual, we will not be having a meeting in December.

SPS Nashville event is coming up May 14th, 2016.

Office 365 and SharePoint administrators, business users, architects, developers, and other professionals that work with Microsoft and cloud technologies, will meet at the SPS Nashville event on May 14th, 2016 at the Business and Aerospace Building on Middle Tennessee State University's campus.

This is a script that will install all EXE and MSU updates that cannot be injected into the OS while offline. It speeds up the reference image time instead of having to wait for the Windows Update task to download, verify, and install the updates.

This script will automate the process of creating a software update group each month for deploying Windows Updates. The script is setup as a scheduled task to run once a month. You specify the OS, architecture, type(s) of updates, and filters to generate the updates list. It will also create an excel spreadsheet to list all of the updates included. It will then email that spreadsheet to the appropriate admin(s) for review. I have a lot more info on the script and the script itself on my blog below.

This is going to be a great meeting. Ed Wilson will be in Nashville to speak on PowerShell programming. There will be a 30 minute social meet and greet prior to Ed's speech. TEKsystems is being gracious enough to provide food and drink, while Microsoft is providing the space.

We are going to have Ed Wilson, Microsoft's Scripting Guy, to be speaking on October 28th at the Microsoft facility in Franklin. TEKsystems is being gracious enough to provide food and drinks.

We now officially have the first meetup scheduled for the group. Damon and I are going to be setting up the agenda in the next few days. The first meeting will be held on October 22nd @ 6 pm at the Nashville West Precinct Community Center on 5500 Charlotte Pike, near White Bridge Road. You can find out more on the meetup site.

The Nashville PowerShell Users Group (NashPUG) is a local group of IT professionals interested in learning and using Windows PowerShell. All skill levels from beginner to advanced are welcomed to join

It looks like we have a location for the meetings at the West Nashville Police Precinct. Their community meeting room is huge with three projectors. We will be setting up the first meetings here soon, as we have the itineraries for the first 6 meetings finished.

I just got the notification today that PowerShell Community Groups has officially formed our group. My next step is going to be creating a group in meetup.com.
