Vunga is a woman-owned washing station led by Daphrose Uwimana, who founded the cooperative in 2009. She mentors women farmers to produce unique coffee lots and has invested her earnings to purchase land to educate local youth about coffee farming. Daphrose aims to inspire the next generation to enter the coffee sector and continue producing world-class specialty coffee!

A little Mid-May inspo for you ✨

If you are looking for a way to change things up as we move from Spring into Summer, try this easy 6-minute French Press brew method:

1. Measure 60g of coffee with a medium grind.

2. Measure 800ml of water, just off the boil (about 210 degrees)

3. Use 200ml of water to preheat your brewer and wait 30 seconds before dumping it out.

4. For a full pot, add your 60g of ground coffee into the press.

5. In a circular motion, immerse the coffee grounds with water, filling the press.

6. After 30 seconds, give it a good stir and put the lid on. Press just slightly to ensure the water covers the coffee.

7. Let the coffee sit for about 5-6 minutes. Then slowly and gently, press the filter until it comes to a stop.

8. Turn the lid to open the pour spout.

Serve and enjoy!
