Industrial Rubber & Gasket

Industrial Rubber & Gasket We are able to custom fabricate any style of gasket, hydraulic hose, industrial hose,
expansion joint, or conveyor belt to your exact specifications.

IR-G is dedicated to solving our customers’ problems by providing best-in-class hydraulic and industrial hose, gaskets, sheet material and sealing products and services. When you have a gasket, industrial hose, hydraulic hose, or another industrial
application problem that requires fast attention and expert evaluation, bring it to us
at IR-G. All of our hoses are
fabricated according to NAHAD (NAHAD.org) Hose Safety Institute (HSI) guidelines. We clean, pressure test, and certify that your assembly meets these specifications,
Industrial hose up to 4" diameter can be crimped or internally expanded. IR-G also offers complete hose fabrication and kitting. In-house welding of metal hoses of up to 4" by trained and certified welders is now
available. Each hose is pressure tested for Quality Assurance. We follow the STAMPED acronym, so if you need a quote for a large order,
please provide the required Size, Temperature, Application and Medium being
transferred. For hose inquiries, please indicate the Pressure requirements, Ends
needed, and the required Delivery date.

The United Rentals Charity Classic is well underway.

IR-G is set up on Hole 3 and on the practice green. We have waters, refreshing adult beverages, and all the smack talk you can handle if you shank it on a par 3.

It's good to be back with our friends at United Rentals for their 10th Charity Classic.

A sold-out field makes for a sold-out show of support for the Tennessee Fisher House Foundation, and we're glad to be right in the middle of it.

Good luck to both flights today, and thanks to everyone who keeps this tournament coming back year after year.

Hose Safety Awareness Month is officially in the books!

We covered a lot of ground: the myths that lead to failures, the parts that make up a safe assembly, and the everyday practices that protect the people working around hydraulic equipment. We hope at least one of those posts made its way into a toolbox talk, a shop conversation, or a second look at a hose that needed replacing.

Special thanks to NAHAD for hosting Hose Safety Awareness and for bringing the industry together around a topic that affects everyone who works with hose. Thank you as well to everyone who read, shared, and engaged with the series.

We'll keep sharing what we know, and we're always here when you need help with a hose, a fitting, or a question about your system!

Stepping away from a machine for a few minutes feels harmless. But a hydraulic system that's still pressurized can release energy without anyone touching the controls.

Hoses can fail, fittings can let go, and raised loads can drop. None of that waits for someone to come back, and the person nearby when it happens may not be the one who left the machine running.

If you're leaving the equipment, take the pressure off first and set any attachments down. If someone else will be working on it, lock it and tag it so there's no question about whether it's safe to approach.

A clamp is only as good as its match to the hose it's holding. Put a light-duty clamp on a high-pressure or high-temperature line and the hose can work its way off the fitting over time.

Several of these clamps are designed around a specific problem. Oetiker and Punch Lok clamps are low profile and hard to tamper with once installed. Constant torque clamps compensate for the hose expanding and contracting with temperature. Boss clamps interlock with the coupling so the hose can't blow off under pressure.

Size matters as much as style. A clamp that's too large won't close down evenly, and one that's too small can bite into the cover. Match both the type and the size to the hose.

A safety department writes the procedures, runs the training, and tracks the incidents. They aren't standing at the bench when a hose gets cut, crimped, or installed.

The person picking the hose, setting the crimper, routing the line, or walking past a leak decides whether the job gets done right. Those calls happen dozens of times a day, usually with nobody from safety in the room.

That's why hose safety depends on the people doing the work. The procedures only protect anyone when they're followed at the bench, on the machine, and in the field, by whoever is closest to the hose at the time.

Safety glasses are the easiest piece of PPE to wear and the easiest one to skip. They're light, cheap, and usually within reach, which makes it tempting to leave them off for something quick.

Pressurized equipment is where that habit catches up with you. A failed fitting or a spray of fluid at working pressure can cause a serious eye injury in an instant.

Wear rated safety glasses with side protection every time you're near a pressurized line, not just during big repairs.

Picking the right reel comes down to hose size and how often it gets used. Light hose that's pulled out all day works well on a spring reel. Heavy hose, long runs, or locations without power are better suited to a hand crank. Large hose that gets used constantly is where a motor-driven reel earns its cost.

Once it's installed, the bumper stop and guide arm do most of the protecting. The stop keeps the fitting from slamming into the reel, and the guide arm keeps the hose from dragging across an edge on the way in.

Walk the hose back instead of letting it fly. A retracting hose with a metal fitting on the end can hurt someone.

Hose color usually says more about who made it than what it's rated for.

Many manufacturers use a signature cover color or stripe across a whole product line, so two hoses from different manufacturers that look the same can have very different pressure ratings, temperature limits, and construction.

The layline is where the real information lives. It lists the size, the standard the hose meets, the working pressure, and the date it was made. The assembly tag adds the rest.

If the spec matters, read it. Don't guess it from the color.

Couplers and fittings can pick up dirt fast. They get dropped, dragged across the ground, and left hanging open on the side of a machine.

Connecting one without wiping it first pushes that dirt into the hydraulic system. From there it wears seals, scores cylinder walls, and shortens the life of pumps and valves that cost far more than the hose ever did.

Wipe both halves every time you connect. When the line is disconnected, put a dust cap or cover on.
