Already sold, but too cool not to share, this stunning 1954 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop.

While we wouldn’t typically recommend swapping out the original Klusons for a set of Grover Rotomatics on a golden-era Les Paul, when it happened fifty years ago, we can make an exception. This one came to us from the family of the original owner, tucked neatly in its original 4-latch Lifton case.

With a fresh refret from the team over at Gibson Repair & Restoration, it’s an exceptional player, resonant, lively, and everything you’d hope for from a mid-’50s Goldtop.

Don’t tell anyone, but we think the Grovers look pretty cool.

This 1937 Gibson L-C “Century of Progress” is one of the most visually distinct flat-top acoustics we have ever produced. Introduced in 1933 for the Chicago World's Fair, the model is built on an L-00 platform, but with a maple body, mahogany neck, and its incredibly unique pearloid fingerboard and headstock veneer.

This example is a truly excellent one, with beautifully figured maple back and sides, a rich sunburst, and top-to-bottom servicing from our friends at The Commonwealth Luthier. It’s lightweight, resonant, and surprisingly powerful, with a clear, articulate voice and a look you can’t beat.

Complete with its original brown-and-purple Lifton hardshell case and a new Deluxe Protector Case to make sure it gets where it’s going safely.

Built in Kalamazoo alongside its Gibson counterparts, this 1962 Epiphone Crestwood Custom blends familiar construction, including a mahogany body and neck and Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, with distinctly Epiphone appointments.

Short headstock, clear plexiglass guard with center stripe, Tremotone vibrola, and a set of Patent Applied For mini humbucking pickups the Crestwood Custom is uniquely its own. The mini humbucking pickups are clear, articulate, and a little more focused than their full-size counterparts, still with those familiar Patent Applied For decals. Refretted for smooth, consistent playability with its original electronics intact, this guitar is a fantastic player.

What do three Beatles, a Rolling Stone, and Howlin' Wolf all have in common?

The Epiphone Casino.

This 1963 example is an exceptional instrument. Loud and resonant acoustically, and driving and punchy when plugged in, it makes perfect sense why this guitar shows the kind of playwear it does. It has stories—an old headstock repair, a long-ago Bigsby install, and decades of honest use—and now fresh life with a professional refret and new nut.

All the look, all the sound, and its original gray-and-blue hardshell case to complete the package.

We’ve got 70 years of picking on display for this .

When we came across this 1956 Gibson J-50, we knew we had to bring it back home to Gibson and get it dialed in. This guitar has lived a well-played life, with decades of honest use worn into every inch, and it shows in all the right ways.

Dry, boomy, and clear, this J-50 demands to be played. After a visit to our friends at Glaser Instruments for a refret and professional service, it’s ready to make music for decades more. It includes its original chipboard case, along with a new Lifton Historic hardshell.

New from Gibson Certified Vintage: a crazy clean 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom.

Shipped from Kalamazoo on April 3, 1969, this Les Paul Custom has made it over five decades in remarkably great condition. The return of the Les Paul Custom in the late ’60s saw a range of feature changes, and this one sits right in the sweet spot—one-piece neck, long neck tenon, and a one-piece mahogany body with a maple cap.

Finished in ebony with extremely light wear and nicely aged gold hardware, this guitar is all original with the exception of a fantastic inside-the-binding refret and new nylon nut by Glaser Instruments. Original Patent Number humbuckers, CTS potentiometers, and Sprague Black Beauty capacitors round it out. This Les Paul is a responsive, lively guitar that’s a blast to play.

It even has its original black-and-goldenrod hardshell rectangle case, along with a new Gibson Deluxe Protector Case to make sure it gets where it is going safely.

Closing out the year with a really special pair—a 1960 Gibson SG Special and GA-6 Skylark amplifier.

This slab-body guitar is often referred to as a Les Paul Doublecut, but by 1959 our dual P-90 Special had officially transitioned to the SG name—a shift that would soon carry across the full range of beveled, horned solidbody guitars we introduced in the early ’60s.

This example comes to us from the family of the longtime owner and remains paired with the GA-6 Skylark it’s been with since day one. The guitar is exceptionally clean and, aside from an aged Gibson Custom Shop wraparound tailpiece, remains fully original and a great player. The blonde-tolex Skylark is just as well preserved and still includes its original canvas amp cover.

A beautifully kept guitar and amp that have stayed together for more than sixty years—a fitting way to close out the year.

Stocking full of coal? This 1962 Epiphone Coronet is a pretty solid consolation prize.

Shipped from Kalamazoo on October 23, 1962, the Coronet sat alongside models like the Gibson Les Paul Jr. and SG Jr.—mahogany body, wraparound tailpiece, stripped-down appointments, and a single P-90 under the hood.

This particular example is a fantastic player: lightweight with a slim, fast neck that’s easy to settle into. A beautifully made reproduction pickguard is installed in place of the original (which has a broken corner and is included in the case), and an aged Gibson Custom Shop Lightning Bar bridge provides excellent intonation, with the original bridge also included.

It ships with its original gray-and-blue chipboard case, along with a new Epiphone USA hardshell case for added protection.

Just in to the shop—a stunning 1976 Gibson Bicentennial Firebird.

Finished in natural mahogany, this is a remarkably clean and original first-year example from the Bicentennial run, showing minimal wear, light patina to the gold hardware, and virtually no checking. Coming up on 50 years old, it still feels fresh in the hands—light, resonant, and easy to play.

This era marked the broader return of the reverse-body Firebird, paired with a few thoughtful updates, including a stopbar tailpiece. The pickup set is unique to this model: an Alnico Firebird pickup in the neck position and a ceramic sidewinder-style pickup at the bridge, delivering a wide range of character—from clear and articulate to focused and punchy.

Clean, honest, and beautifully preserved, this is a standout example of a Firebird from a moment when the model was finding its footing again—and doing it well.

We’ve had a great run of ES guitars around the shop lately, and this one felt like the right way to cap it off.

Shipped from Kalamazoo on November 18, 1965, this ES-335TD is a beautifully preserved example from one of the most transitional years in Gibson production. It retains the wide nut and a comfortable, full medium-C neck profile, while showing a mix of nickel and chrome hardware—right in the middle of the shift that defines mid-’65 instruments.

Finished in a warm iced-tea sunburst with subtle figuring across the top, it’s an exceptionally clean guitar that’s spent its entire life in West Michigan, just a short distance from where it was built. Original Patent No. humbuckers deliver an open, balanced voice, and the guitar plays effortlessly up and down the neck.
An all-original, mixed-spec ES-335 from the tail end of the wide-nut era—historically interesting, beautifully preserved, and, most importantly, a joy to play.

This 1962 Gibson ES-330TD is about as clean as they come.

Shipped from Kalamazoo on October 22, 1962, this is an exceptionally well-preserved example of our fully hollow, dual-pickup thinline—so clean it genuinely feels like a time capsule. Aside from a vintage-correct replacement trapeze tailpiece and nylon nut, it remains all original and remarkably untouched.

The three-tone sunburst is vibrant and crisp, the small block inlays and black dogear P-90 covers place it squarely in this short transitional window, and the original pickups sound every bit as clear and articulate as you’d hope. A slim but comfortable neck and original frets in excellent shape make this guitar an excellent player.

What really sets this one apart is what comes with it. The original black-and-goldenrod Lifton case is equally clean, and inside you’ll find an exceptional collection of original case candy—including a period Bobby Lee “No Mishap” strap, hang tags, Tune-o-matic instructions, and even the elusive Gibson-branded screwdriver. It’s rare to see a package this complete.
