So incredibly sad to hear of Dolly Parton’s passing recently. 💕 She was truly one of a kind and brought so much joy, kindness, and inspiration to the world.

I’m honored to have painted this piece awhile back to an incredible woman and Tennessee legend. 🎨💗

Rest easy, Dolly. Your music, your heart, and your legacy will live on forever. You will always be remembered for the kindness and love you showed people. 🦋

Here’s to freedom, fireworks, and the future. Took this photo last night in front of George Washington's Mount Vernon and it looks like a heart.
Happy 4th!

Sketching and painting are so relaxing, and this newest piece will definitely become a painting. My mom had told us she wanted to be a swan, but she also mentioned to my sister-in-law that a yellow butterfly would be something everyone could see more often. Naturally, I had to combine the two into one cohesive piece.

I’ve been painting quietly, letting the work speak before I do. I haven’t shared in a while, and I won’t promise improvement—only honesty. This piece has lived many lives already and is still becoming. I usually stay within impressionistic realism, but lately I’ve been stepping into abstraction to loosen my grip, to stop chasing perfection. Because perfection doesn’t exist—and that imperfect, messy, evolving space is where being human becomes something truly beautiful. 🩷

Working on some ornaments this past week. This one turned out even better than I expected. I love how it pops off the wood with so much texture and movement.

I just finished this sea turtle and rooster painting for my husband’s office yesterday. It feels amazing to get back into creating marine life—especially sea turtles. I tucked a small yellow butterfly onto the shell in memory of my mom, and from now on, every piece will have a little hidden butterfly. A big thank you to my husband for encouraging me, challenging me, and being my biggest critic—you helped me bring this to life. Love you!

Flashback Friday-This was one of my very first paintings after I got back into creating following the birth of our daughters'. At the time, my husband was transitioning from military to civilian life, and we were carrying so much stress from all the what-ifs and unknowns.

Art has always been been my way of calming my soul and finding peace, but these days it feels different-in the best way. I've started inviting God into my daily life alongside my art, and its opened a whole new world for me.

After losing my mom, I honestly wasn't sure I'd ever get back to painting daily. But through a lot of prayer, I've slowly found my way back. Creating again feels refreshing, though its definitely not the same as it was 10 years ago-its a new version of me.

Have any of you experienced a journey like this in your own life?
