🌲✨ Tips for Caring for Your Live Christmas Tree ✨🌲
You’ve found the perfect tree at Green Hills Christmas Tree Farm, and now it’s time to keep it fresh and beautiful throughout the holiday season! Follow these tips for a healthy, vibrant tree:
🌟 1. Trim the Trunk
If we don’t install your stand at the farm, before placing your tree in the stand, cut 1–2 inches off the trunk’s base to create a fresh surface for water absorption.
💧 2. Keep it Hydrated
Fill the stand with water immediately after placing your tree.
Check the water level daily; never let it go dry! A dry trunk will seal over and prevent water absorption.
❄️ 3. Choose the Right Spot
Keep your tree away from heat sources like fireplaces, radiators, and direct sunlight.
Cooler temperatures will help the tree last longer.
🧴 4. Skip the Additives
Plain water is all your tree needs—additives like sugar, soda, or aspirin aren’t necessary and may not help.
✨ 5. Monitor Your Tree’s Freshness
If needles start to drop or the tree becomes dry, it’s time to remove it from your home for safety.
Leyland Cypress trees can last up to 3 months if watered properly, while Blue Ice trees last about 4–6 weeks.
🛠 6. Dispose Responsibly
After the holidays, check for local recycling programs or repurpose the tree for mulch, bird feeders, or composting.
Your tree is a beautiful, living centerpiece for your holiday celebrations—care for it well, and it’ll reward you with a season full of joy!
