BeeWeaver or Texas Italian? Our BeeWeaver breed is bred and raised in Navasota, Texas, mite-tolerant, virus resistant, productive, and hardy, well suited for all beekeepers! The Texas Italian breed is a hybrid we began offering in 2026, bred from a BeeWeaver breeder queen and openly mated with Italian drones in California. This hybrid offers the gentle temperament of Italian honeybees paired with the hardiness and resilience of our BeeWeaver genetics.
Nucs, Packages, or Established Colonies? A Nucleus colony, or Nuc, is best suited for all levels of beekeepers! This smaller colony is like a studio apartment for bees, and the day you pick them up, they are ready to move into something with more space for their growing colony. Nucs come with 4 frames of bees, brood, and resources, a laying queen, and an in-frame feeder. A Package is better suited for experienced beekeepers. Packages, also known as artificial swarms, contain 3lbs of worker bees with a caged queen. Established colonies are a great way to grow your apiary without having to put in the fore work of establishing the colony. This can be a little more daunting to begin with as they will contain 8 frames of bees & brood to begin with!
