Jumping back in time to the first few weeks of June!

Boatyard life is dusty and productive. Every boat has a list of things that need to get done before launch day and the air is filled with the sounds of angle grinders, tractors, and diesel engines firing up after a long winter.

We brought the kids to Bristol Bay for the first time ever and loved (almost) every second of it! Hopefully someday soon we can take these future fishermen on the water, but not quite yet. We just shared boatyard life with them for now. Baby steps.

The most refreshing way to bathe in Bristol Bay. Bonus points for jumping from the tippy top of the tophouse!

Jake and crew are doing well and catching fish daily! The Bristol Bay sockeye run is going about as predicted and more fish are on the way!

Sometimes we have downtime between times we’re allowed to fish determined by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. It’s a good opportunity for a quick swim (if the tides are right), a good meal, and a nap!

Something about this time of year just does it to us.

The anticipation builds like the night before your birthday: restless, hopeful, wide awake with excitement for what's coming. We're deep in prep mode: making calls to fine-tune the boat, ordering groceries to ship up on the barge, checking in with our crew. The season is close, and we're excited.

Bristol Bay, we're counting the days! It's an honor to be even a small part of something so alive: this incredible ecosystem, this community of fishermen who show up season after season.

We may not be able to bring you with us, but we'll bring the salmon back to you, so you can be a part of this adventure too. ✨🐟
