Public Information Update – River Levels

The Cities of Neenah and Menasha, along with Winnebago County are monitoring water levels as runoff from upstream areas continues to move through the system toward our communities.

At this time, this is not an emergency situation, but residents in low-lying or waterfront areas may notice gradually rising water levels over the coming days. Conditions are expected to be manageable, but we are taking proactive steps to stay ahead of any potential impacts.

What to Expect:

* Gradual increases in water levels in rivers, lakes, and low-lying areas
*Potential for minor ponding or water near shoreline properties
*Changing conditions depending on upstream flow and weather

What You Can Do:

*Monitor local updates and stay informed
*Move valuable items or equipment away from areas prone to water
*Clear debris from storm drains and ditches near your property
*Avoid driving or walking through standing or moving water

Sandbag Availability: Sandbags will be made available for residents as a precautionary measure at the following locations:

City of Neenah:
1 - North Water Street/High Street
2 - Trestle Bridge parking lot on North Water Street by River Street.

City of Menasha:
1 - Three locations on Fox Street.

Residents are encouraged to use sandbags in areas where water intrusion is a concern.

City and County staff will continue to monitor conditions closely and coordinate with regional partners. Updates will be provided as needed.

Residents who experience any flood damage are asked to report it by calling 2-1-1 or visiting: https://211wisconsin.communityos.org. Reporting damage helps ensure appropriate resources and assistance can be coordinated.

It’s time to start up those mowers and see what sitting all winter long did! Does it start up loud? Does it run smoothly? Does it start up at all?

Blades on your mower need to be sharpened before your cutting season starts to ensure good clean cuts for your grass, otherwise it will break the blade of grass creating damage to your lawn and possibly a risk of fungi to grow.
