One of the challenges of being a manufacture of fishing gear is that you tend to forget about what has worked on previous trips. That is why I have mentioned to others that pictures can be key to your success. I was looking back at what worked in seasons past and was reminded of my T3 PINK SCALE DODGER with a florescent blue ladder. With receiving some success of my florescent pink PB Mini Spoon together they proved to be the setup of the day.
Gotta love a chunky koke.

Made a run to Bullards on Wednesday. I was out prototyping my new RB Tackle T3 Purple UV dodger with my UV Glow Pink PB Mini Spoon. Found kokes in multiple of places and of different sizes. They are on the move. Caught, kept and released 30ish in just a few hours on 2 rods. The kokanee I was chasing were from 60’ to 75’. These seem to be the most active. If you want 11” plus you need to w**d through all the 10’s. I did find one koke at 12”. I seem to get 1 or 2 per trip out. When that 14” bow was coming in there was that brief thought of finally getting a good koke.
Orange Gold T3 Dodger with Orange Black Dots PB Spoon worked all day. The Purple UV T3 Dodger with my UV Glow Pink PB Mini Spoon work great when the sun was on the water.

A favorite color pattern for years the Orange Stripe pattern has come to RB Tackle and my PB Spoon along with the Pink Stripe. Great color options for kokanee and trout. Both are hand painted with a pearlized white base and then florescent colors on a nickel spoon.

Made a run to Bullards on Tuesday to get a fresh batch of kokanee and to test out some new RB Tackle gear.
My plan was to match the conditions of the lake. First thing in the morning with shade on the lake I started running the FLORESCENT PURPLE, YELLOW CHARTREUSE T3 DODGER AND PURPLE FLASH PB SPOON on one downrigger which has produced on previous trips. On the other downrigger I ran my new BLUE HYPERPLAID, PURPLE CRACKED ICE T3 DODGER AND ORANGE STRIPE PB SPOON that I recently painted. It worked great until the sun hit the lake. I then swapped out the blue hyperplaid for a GOLD / FLORESCENT ORANGE PRISM T3 DODGER AND PB MINI SPOON, UV GLOW FLORESCENT ORANGE. I ended the day with this limit of kokes, tossed 20 smaller ones back and finished with 2 sets of doubles. Doubles are always fun when you are fishing alone. Best fishing depths 60’ to 80’.

I hit Bullards today between the storms. Found some nice kokanee for this time of year. Purple chartreuse dodger with purple flash spoon and copper orange dodger with a melon spoon did the trick again today. 60’ to 70’ deep at 1.5mph with 2 rods with multiple doubles. 30ish kokes in about 3 hours.
In a brine now and on the smoker in 2 days.

Friday was my first run to Bullards to just look for kokanee. I fished stained water on an east wall in the shade for 3 hours. Caught, kept and released 20 kokes keeping 10 that averaged 11”. Matching the color selection with water conditions helped.

10 pound Vinyl Plastisol (Rubber) Coated Downrigger Stick Weight
There are times when you want to bounce off the bottom to get those fish hugging structure to react. You do this and it can make a tough bite a little easier. My 10lb dropper weight will help take that heart stopping feeling you get when you bounce off of bottom structure when other type of weights tends to hang up.
My Bottom Bouncing Stick Weights are hand poured lead inside rigid steel, capped, cleaned, heated and dipped in a vinyl plastisol (RUBBER) coating to help take on the vigorous bouncing off structure in the water or from marring your transom, the outside or the inside of your boat. Each weight has a 1/4-20 eye bolt that are zinc plated steel to help prevent corrosion.
After being dipped in vinyl plastisol the weights are roughly 1-5/8” in diameter.
If you like to bounce bottom then this Stick Weight was made for you.
