Some vintage is simply priceless 🤍

This beautiful German paper cutting (scherenschnitte) was handcrafted by my Grandma Linn in 1986. She created it as a wedding gift for one of her neighbors , never imagining 40 years later it would find its way back to our family.

It’s a long story that I won’t bore you with, but the recipient’s sister saw it and said “I know Phyllis’s granddaughter, I wonder if she would want this?”

Heck yes I do!!! Sometimes the most priceless vintage isn’t found in an antique store… it’s found in the stories that come with it.

Today of the list for the plant purge is the Monstera Standleyana or “monstera cobra” 🐍 It’s a climber that likes bright, filtered light and well draining, chunky soil (that parts already done 😉)

Happy 4th of July, friends! I’ve been out sourcing for that vintage goodness to bring to the schoolhouse this month. The places I’ve been! My favorite was an old 3 story farmhouse - completely original. It even had a sleeping porch. It made me feel grateful for the small communities, family traditions and freedoms that allow us to build businesses, chase dreams and do what we love. Have a safe and wonderful holiday weekend.
