the street is closed but Aviary Books is OPEN!

Over the next two months, the lower part of William Street will be closed while the New Bedford Whaling Museum continues their construction project. Aviary Books plan to maintain our regular hours (Thu-Mon 11-6) for the duration.

There is still plenty of parking available downtown, the closest spots to the shop are N. 2nd Street or the Elm St garage.

Itā€™s Moby Dick from the whaleā€™s point of view.
Near the end of his life, beached on the New England coast, the White Whale finally sets the record straight, spinning a tale of high adventure and rich emotion, of love and loss, of loathing and revenge. Propelling his story is Ahab, the mad captain fixated on the ā€œmonsterā€ who took his leg. But Ahabā€™s obsession is not one-sided. Whales, too, have long memories. Fictionā€™s most famous fish is not who we thought.
