New Braunfels Smokehouse has been part of the local story for more than 80 years, and it all started in a pretty humble way.

Back in the 1940s, it began as an ice plant where locals stored their meats, until someone started hickory-smoking them using old German recipes. The flavor quickly caught on, and what started as a small operation grew into a Texas favorite known far beyond New Braunfels.

Today, you can still find that same signature smoked flavor at their shop on N. Guenther Ave, along with a piece of local history that’s been passed down for generations.
