How it all started...

My name is Kim and at 29 I was diagnosed with colon cancer. I was in remission for many years, but just recently have been diagnosed with breast cancer. When I was first diagnosed I went to a wig store where I was appalled by the prices. After spending $500 to get a “moderately” priced wig, I could not even stand to wear it. Wigs bother me, they are itchy and uncomfortable, I was also really self concious about the way it fit around my face. I decided I wanted to figure out fun ways to wear beanies and hats... something to break up the monotony of the same wig everyday and something more comfortable and more ME. I started making beanies and hats for myself. When I wore them around, people did not even know that it was not my real hair! I got so many compliments and people started asking me where I bought them. These beanies/hats literally gave me a “peace of mind” knowing that I was wearing something comfortable and cute, and that my cancer was not defining me. This is where A Peace of Mind got started.

I love making people feel good about themselves. Whether they have lost their hair to treatments, have thinning hair, or are just having a bad hair day. I want my products to make people happy. My goal is to create a quality product at a reasonable price. I have always been all about helping people, so this allows me the perfect opportunity to branch out and do something I am passionate about.
