Happy Friday, gardeners!

We wanna know what's blooming in your garden today... or what's blooming this week counts too πŸ˜‰

In our farmhouse garden, the chives are thriving, our pansies are still bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, and a few of our aster seedlings have opened since planting.

Let us know what you've got blooming below!

Did you know that each beet seed is actually a cluster of seeds?

So when one seed is planted, multiple seedlings will pop up in the same spot, usually in groups of 2-5. We thin these little groups to the strongest seedling, then snack on the mini beets and beet greens!

The same goes for Swiss chard and cilantro 🌱

A gorgeous Sparkler Blush Cleome shared with us by one of you 🩷✨

This flower is always a head-turner, but wow! These photos really show how true to its name this flashy cleome is.

Thank you for sharing with us, Stephen!

As always, gardeners, feel free to send us photos of your gardens and harvests. We love to see what you've grown with our seeds!

What's your favorite flower to use in bouquets? πŸ’

Our Swiss Giant Mix pansies watched on as we finished planting some strawflower and ageratum trials in our cut flower garden this afternoon.

That's one section fully planted (for now...until we spy some "empty" spots πŸ˜‰)

Do you replant your over-sown seedlings? 🌱

We love to sow densely in our garden here at Pinetree, and that means thinning out a lot of tiny seedlings rows.

When we thin out our rows, we sometimes save the seedlings with the strongest root systems to replant in empty garden sections or spare containers πŸͺ΄

It’s a great way to grow more plants with what you’ve already started in your garden - and the more the merrier, right?

Our Wild Lupine Mix in all its blurple glory πŸ’œ

Photo shared with us by Song Dog Homestead -

"These are some of the Wild Lupines from your seeds. I think they are fantastic. I have them everywhere!"

Thank you for sharing a slice of your garden with us!

While the colors in this perennial lupine mix are primarily shades of blue and purple, occasionally, you'll get some spots with pink or white πŸͺ»

What growing zone are you in, and what are you planting this week?

We consider this last week of May our "safe zone" to start planting transplants and more sensitive varieties here in Maine!

Our weather and temps can be unpredictable through mid-spring, with random heat waves and surprise frosts, so late May is our garden green light πŸ’š
