A community of 25+ artists. Our artists staff the gallery daily from 10-5, mid May - mid Oct. We hope you visit, enjoy and take a piece of Maine home with you.

The gallery of Maine artists has members displaying work in many mediums (oil, watercolor, acrylic, pottery, wood, photography, jewelry, glass, wool, pastel, sculpture and more)!

Saltwater members gathered at the gallery for our pre-season clean-up day and will be busy hanging up artwork and arranging displays. Gallery president Doreen Reynolds and gallery artist members Scott White and Bob Schilke have hung out our sign in preparation for opening day on Friday, May 22nd. Hope to see you this season!

Self-described “late bloomer” KAY MILLER finally found time to explore her artistic interests after retiring from 35 years of teaching. She worked in a variety of media, including pastels and watercolors, eventually discovering printmaking and then exploring monotypes, collographs, and etching. Her subject matter runs the gamut from real to abstract, offering an interesting display of linework, texture, and composition. Don’t forget ! Saltwater opens for the season on Friday, May 22nd and Kay’s artwork will be on view.

Saltwater welcomes artist MOLLY MUGLER as a newly juried member of our gallery. Molly not only is a gifted painter who primarily paints Maine themed landscapes in watercolor as well as oil, acrylic, and gouache, but she also creates very unique relief diorama paintings. Her compositions are often inspired by the unique perspectives of the coastline and birds-eye views of the landscape below captured by her aerial-drone. We are very excited to share Molly’s artwork with all of our new and returning patrons!

Saltwater is excited to start to introduce new artist members to our gallery patrons and visitors, beginning with the accomplished photographer KEN SMITH. Based in Galveston in the winter and on the rugged coast of Maine in the summer, Ken centers his photographs on nature, often at the macro and micro levels revealing frequently overlooked details. His work is guided by the words of Henry David Thoreau : “It’s not what you look at that matters, but what you see”. Join us in welcoming Ken Smith to Saltwater Artists Gallery! photography

If you believe Saltwater artist MARY BUERGIN, there is no better feeling than finding a place that captivates you, setting up your easel, and loosing yourself for hours in the beauty! Buergin will be exhibiting many new pieces this year, painted in various spots throughout New England. Come see her work, and the work of 26 other talented artists, starting Memorial Day weekend.

Saltwater artist ELIZABETH PALMER is getting warmed up for the art show season with a show at the Bremen Public Library from now through the end of April. Located at 204 Waldoboro Road (Rt.32) . open 10-5 on Wedd. 10-7 on Thurs., 10-3 on Fri., and 9-12 on Sat. Get an early start on the 2026 art season by taking in this show of Elizabeth’s wonderful watercolor paintings!

Saltwater sculptor CYNTHIA SMITH explores and utilizes a wide range of materials in her sculptures and relief artwork - including bronze, woood, stone, plaster. clay, and found objects. Her subject matter often includes manipulated human or animal forms, along with rhythmic arrangements of shapes and space, in artwork that reflects thoughtful creativity, an appreciation of materials, and a sense of whimsy.

The images that Saltwater artist SARAH GREENIER most enjoys painting are “quintessential Maine scenes”. She feels that being outdoors “breathes life” into her work - taking in the sounds & smells of her surroundings and being inspired by Mother Nature is about as close to perfection as it gets. Saltwater Artists Gallery is distinctive in that our juried members are creators in a varied range of artist mediums and techniques including drawing, painting, pastels, printmaking, photography, jewelry, sculpture, glass art, mosaics, woodturning, and fiber arts. One of our member artists is painter ROBERT SCHILKE - he works mainly in watercolors and his subject matter is primarily landscapes and seascapes. The gallery will be opening for the season on Friday, May 22nd - please stop by to see us!
