The 50th anniversary edition of Berry's "The Unsettling of America" just came out, we were so excited to put it on the shelf. His books have had a profound influence on our store and to us as readers. Thanks Mr. Berry.

A Kentucky farmer, he railed against agribusiness and championed small family farms and the environment, winning widespread acclaim.

Heads up! Longtime bookshop friend and one of our favorite writers is teaching a novel writing class, open to the public, at . Spots limited.

This fall, accomplished author Jonathan Miles will offer The Art of the Novel, an evening class open to Solebury students and adults from the Solebury community. Known for his New York Times Notable books Dear American Airlines and Want Not, Miles’ work is highly regarded, and as an alumni parent, he brings firsthand familiarity with Solebury to the classroom. His experience as a professional novelist gives students a unique opportunity to learn the craft of storytelling directly, highlighting what makes a Solebury education so special.

Thanks to for the great write-up on New Hope and for mentioning us. We wouldn't be in town since 1967 without all our customers and this great, funky community. It's a really beautiful thing to see people still discovering our area for the first time. We're lucky to have such a place to share with so many.

Happy birthday to one of our absolute favorites, Wendell Berry.

Wishing our beloved author Wendell Berry a happy 92nd birthday! 🥳

Wendell is an essayist, novelist, and poet, has been honored with the T. S. Eliot Prize, the Aiken Taylor Award for Modern American Poetry, the John Hay Award of the Orion Society, and the Dayton Literary Peace Prize Richard C. Holbrooke Distinguished Achievement Award, among other distinctions. In 2010, he was awarded the National Humanities Medal by President Barack Obama, and in 2016, he was the recipient of the Ivan Sandrof Life Achievement Award from the National Book Critics Circle.

We're so grateful to have him as a cornerstone of our list, and we hope you'll check out some of his many celebrated works! 📚
