A group of Long Island men are challenging stereotypes one stitch at a time.

The Northport Men’s Knitting & Crochet Meet-Up brings together men of all experience levels on the last Saturday of each month.

Some have been knitting or crocheting for decades, while others are picking up needles for the first time. Newcomers even receive their first set of needles and yarn.

For members, it’s about more than knitting. The group has become a place to relax, make friends and find a sense of community.

New! Join Our WUA! 35th Anniversary 7"x9" Section Campaign!!!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Warm Up America! 35th Anniversary 7" × 9" Section Campaign, celebrating 35 years of bringing warmth, comfort, and hope to people in need across America. This milestone honors the enduring spirit of community and togetherness that began with our founder, Evie Rosen, in 1991, and invites you to be part of this special collaborative effort.

Below are four different patterns created by Bill & Dee Scalzo, dedicated WUA! volunteers, inspired by the official WUA! logo. Two patterns are crochet, and two are knit. Feel free to make as many sections as you’d like!

Dates: Now until June 30th
Size: 7"x9" sections
Yarn: Acrylic (maroon & white preferred, not required, please weave in the ends)
Goal: 3,500 sections!
We accept sections year round!
