Fire in Ice is finally here! 🔥❄

First Saturday has always been about showing your love for local and this First Saturday is no different! The temps are frigid, no doubt - but downtown businesses are open and excited to host you! Check out the fabulous sculptures, catch a fire performance and visit the first ever ice slide as you shop, dine and sip your way around downtown this weekend.

Fire in Ice is proudly presented by Atlantic Union Bank, they will be keeping warm at the Carroll Creek Trellis Friday night and Saturday with fire pits and giveaways.

We didn’t know about today’s economic blackout when we opened. As we were figuring out how to respond, our heat went out and the temperature in the shop kept dropping.

So today we’re closing early — for two reasons:
In solidarity against ICE and systems that harm our communities
and because the icy cold inside our store made it uncomfortable for our customers and employees to stay open.

We hate to miss another day of sales after such a hard week. Small businesses feel losses like this deeply. But we believe, without hesitation, that all humans deserve the right to exist, to be safe, and to live with dignity. That belief matters more than a single day of profit.

It feels like even the universe stepped in and made the decision for us.

We’ll be back tomorrow for normal business hours. Thank you for standing with us, and for supporting small businesses that stand for people. ✊🤍

Snow day downtown ❄️ We’re open today from 11 to 4 for our neighbors ❄️ Hot tea for anyone who braved the walk downtown (while supplies lasts). No street parking and icy roads—walking only if you’re nearby. Be safe out there.
