These are for my collectors and lovers of fine furniture craftsmanship. These are what I believe to be 19th English Georgian solid Mahogany chairs. The hand carved details are exceptionally good. There are in near perfect condition with some minor scratches. They are from a prominent estate here in New Orleans. They will be even more beautiful once the seats are recovered. These are highly sought after chairs. Probably bought them from Stan Levy Imports back in the day. There is a set of 10 in total. This kind of craftsmanship is almost non existent. These were made with a lot of love and exceptional craftsmanship. The imperfections in the carvings are so beautiful that tells you these were not machine made. Prices for a collection like these can get expensive, but you are not paying for just regular chairs but works of art. Good morning! Sorry I have missing in action. However Ive been so busy reworking the store to make space for all of the beautiful unique items that recently it the floor this week. Lots of glassware, art, home decor and antique furniture. NEHI HOME is a wonderful place to find the most amazing pieces at affordable prices. I will be posting some more of the amazing pieces in the coming days. However if you have a chance to pop in please do. There are also $1-$5 bins where you can find some little treasures. I’m super excited to share with you all the chairs I restored with some help. They are finally in and ready for a new home! These are fully restored MCM Löwenstein-Oggo Chairs. With a beautiful brush stroke velvet upholstery and a new wood finish. These are incredible! Pop in today to see them and try them out. We kept the webbing on the seat for added luxury and comfort. This my first restoration project in a long time. To think I almost passed these chairs up. However I saw what they could be. These were a labor of love! Lots of expert hands helped with this project. Someone even came out of retirement to help with the exquisite upholstery. These chairs are from the 50s and I kept all of the bones. I just choose a lighter finish and an updated luxury velvet upholstery fabric. The bones are still there. We even kept, but updated the webbing on the seat. This will hit the store Saturday and will be for sale. I’m going to be so sad to see them go, but I’m happy to see my vision come to life. Thanks for everyone who had a hand in this project. Good morning! So a month ago I decided to redo a pair of mid century modern chairs. When I saw them I actually left them at the store and decided not to buy. We left but the chairs I just couldn’t get out of my mind, I had a vision of what they could be. We went back and they were still there. So bought them with a dream of restoring them. Giving them new life if you will. These chairs have been a labor of love. They were made back in the 50s and I am restoring them to last another 50 plus years. They were made extremely well and I didn’t want to take away from that luxury. So we are fully restoring them. They have been refinished is this beautiful warm finish versus the darker original finish. They will be covered in a very fun and elegant velvet fabric that plays off the curves of the chair. Today the final steps are being made of reupholstering the seat and the back. I’m super excited to reveal to you all the finished product. Once done they will be available for purchase. A lot of work went into these chairs and we have had a lot of help restoring them. I can’t wait to see my vision come to life and hopefully there will be more restorations in the future.
