Big day tomorrow for the store.

It’s an Election Day, so I’ll be in my voting costume, featuring my crocheted shawlette in the colorway Gerrymandering by Dye Mad yarns. See the picture to see how this works up….its almost as crazy as the completely unrelated political version.

It’s also the anniversary of our triad- 12 years of our little family.

And… it’s my birthday. Come in and wish me a happy one.

I have some sad news today, as the store resumes normal hours.

Crystal’s (from Crys’ Coffin - our in store yarn dyer) lost her father last weekend.

We were lucky enough to be able to say goodbye, but that doesn’t feel like enough.

As odd as it is to say about someone who was never in my yarn store, this is probably where I feel closest to him. He made the coffin in the picture because Crystal and Jonathan lived in the Point and had no closets (old house). They were spooky kids and he was a spooky dad who loved his daughter and shared a love of spooky stuff with her and her boyfriend.

This coffin shaped closet was part of the haunted house in our garage for about a decade. And when I opened the yarn store a few years ago Jonathan said it was going to the yarn store and I asked where, he said “you’ll see”.

It’s in the dyeing room and all the yarn Crystal dyes spends some time in it as it hangs dry.

Thank you, Donnie, for my girlfriend and the coffin.

Happy Local Yarn Store Day everyone!!!

I hear there’s a little music show happening across town. It’s outside and there was rain overnight… so maybe yall will skip it and come visit me instead. lol

Anyway, 10% off everything, a free decorative stitch marker (I’ll show you where they are), and if you are a knitter, I have a free pattern for a shrug for you (ravelry code that must be redeemed this weekend) and if you are a crocheter, I have my free pattern for the shrug I wear when I vote for you.

Elli is feeling under the weather tonight, so Crystal and myself (Jonathan) are taking over! Since she's not here to stop us we're offering free yarn (with the purchase of said yarn), unlimited hours (between 7-11 PM) and a 10% discount (which is actually normal for Thursdays).
