I was just outside tidying up the swimming pool area in front of the store and a couple pulled up and parked to come in and said good morning. I had an immediate “really good bad idea” that I should do a spin on one of my favorite childhood TV shows-Fantasy Island

Where I would have my little sidekick Kristen standing next to me as she said “de customers. de customers boss!”

And then as they got out of their cars, I would explain who they are and what they are looking for.

“This is Janice and Bob Smith from Hattiesburg and they’ve been looking for the perfect colorful oversize Oushak for five years and she has almost given up. But today we are going to make her rug fantasy dreams come true.”

Crazy how it works at Banana Manor.
You come in and watch the “Rug Show” and fall in love over and over as we flip through the stacks. But then you see “the one”.

We take it out of the stack, fold it up, load it in your car and then hours later you send us a gorgeous pic of it in the room where it was meant to be.

So FUN. So Simple.

If you are out of state, same process but you shop them on the website and we can facetime with you to get to know a rug better. Then we ship it to you for FREE. If it isn’t perfect in the space then we keep going until you officially have “the one”.

We had to create an ad for New Orleans Home Magazine to thank everyone for voting us the Best Rug Store.

I told our Graphic Designer to use a picture of Freddie Mercury and do a “We are the Champions” theme ad. And then he sends this. Me as Freddie Mercury.

I just told the crew I love surrounding myself with creative talented people that are able to elevate good ideas into really good ideas.

Hell, we don’t.

That’s why we went a different direction, with a focus on fun and good times.

When you come by, we’ll greet you as you walk in, offer you an ice cold beverage of your choice, and give you a personalized guided tour of our selection.

Rug Shopping should be fun! There’s nothing more exciting than finding that absolutely perfect piece that makes your home sing and brings everything together.

Rug shopping shouldn’t be tense and uncomfortable, with some salesman in a shiny suit talking you into what he wants you to buy.

It should be fun and exciting, with you knowing that YOU picked the rug that’s right for YOU.
