Your floor is cupping, but the finished flooring may not be the whole problem. 💧

In South Louisiana, warm, humid conditions beneath a raised home can differ significantly from the cooler, air-conditioned environment above. USDA research involving 12 Southern Louisiana homes found that subfloor moisture varied with the season, indoor temperature, flooring material, and type of insulation.

When excess moisture accumulates in the floor assembly and cannot dry effectively, it may contribute to movement, including cupping.
