Hello, my name is Sadith Paz, Panamanian, and historian by profession, I had the singular opportunity to work extensively with the major indigenous groups in Panama and the Mexican Bureau of Indigenous Affairs as a government advocate and community developer. As such, I developed what came to be long lasting friendships with some and other artisans whose work are displayed in these pages. Always a

n admirer of their art and culture, I wanted to find a way through which they could truly enjoy the fruits of their labor to improve their living conditions in order to continue creating the art forms they love. For a long time I toyed with the idea of setting up a fair business practice venue and as a result, after many months of planning, I decided to open a small business that would reflect the outstanding quality and beauty that our very simple and humble yet incredibly skilled artisans produce both in my native Panama and Mexico. I aptly named it Artisans’ Well and it is located in the New Orleans Healing Center on 2372 St. The doors of the shop were opened in November, 2014 and little by little, it is getting known for our very unique, handmade, original one of a kind merchandise singularly great for your home decor, home and living, kitchen and dining, drinking and bar ware, tumblers and glasses, baskets and bowls. For outdoor and gardening, planters and pots, and indoor planters. Center pieces and table décor, ornaments and accents, wood sculptures, art and collectibles. Most importantly, the artisan friends from the Darien Rain Forest in Panama, Kuna Yala, potter makers from Puebla, Hidalgo, Guerrero, Oaxaca, and glass blowers from Nuevo Laredo, Hidalgo, and family operations from all over are gaining recognition through our endeavor. We hope you enjoy our website, spread the word, and support us with your purchase.
