June is Cancer Survivor Month. 🎗️🧡 And in 9 days, we'll reach a date that changed our family forever... June 10, 2024.
The day our C**ton was diagnosed with leukemia. Blood Cancer!
For a long time, I felt that day was the beginning of everything we lost. The life we knew was over. The plans we had all changed. The version of me that existed before childhood cancer...
But during the exhausting hospital visits, sleepless nights, clinic drives, daily meds, chemo infusions, and learning how to survive something I never thought OUR family would face... I realized something.
I was NOT lost... I was becoming. The woman who walked into this journey isn't the same woman standing here today. And I am now BEYOND thankful for that. SHE was never meant to stay HER.
This month, as we approach TWO YEARS of cancer life, I'm going to share the parts people don't always see.
fear. victories. grief. growth. THE REALITY of childhood Cancer after the casseroles stop showing up.
AWARENESS shouldn't only happen in September.
And while October turns beautifully pink everywhere... our gold ribbons tend to get tucked into the background. We're cheering for the fighters in pink, too. Always!!! 💖
But when childhood cancer receives just 4% of federal cancer research funding, I'd say our kids have earned a little spotlight of their own. 💛✨
And because no family should ever feel alone in this fight.
Welcome to June. We're still under construction... BUT we are HERE!
🖤XOXO...
Amanda Will
