I have been getting asked about the recent NFA ruling, Silencer Shop Foundation v. ATF and Jensen v. ATF, and where we are today. As a licensed 07 FFL and Class 2 SOT holder, the future looks promising for the Suppressors, SBR's and SBS's. While many businesses are talking about the new process that they are starting today, after the appeal deadline has passed, I will still be following ATF guidelines as to how transfers should be done.

I am just a small business and can't afford to incur court fees due to improper transfers of anything regulated under the ATF, and won't risk my license.

That being said, it looks as though in Minnesota at least at this time, we should be able at some point to transfer these former NFA items under a standard 4473 only. This would remove the requirements to complete an ATF Form 4 along with the 4473. This would take your wait time down to the 4473 paperwork and background check time!

This is a big win for the community! I will post an update when I get further guidance on how these transfers should be done going forward. Below is a list of states and how they are affected.
