Interesting read about sensor sizes and how they relate to film making. We all love the shallow depth of field the large sensor offers, but it can be a hinderance where critical focus and dynamic shots are concerned.
I still love using my HVX200 for seminars and shoots where shallow depth of field is not needed and basically undesirable.

What are your thoughts?

Here is a Frame Grab from the video we shot this past weekend at the 24 Hours of Lemons race in Millville, NJ. We were able to pull off some shots on Saturday with the DJI Phantom upgraded with the Zenmuse H3-2D.
The video will be out soon.

Grant Petty announces Blackmagic Cinema Camera Price Reduction and pocket camera is now shipping!

The 2.5k camera the shook up the production world is now available for under $2000!

From Grant's Email Update:

"We have worked very hard over the last year to be able to build the Blackmagic Cinema Camera at a lower cost so we can reduce the price and allow access to digital filming to a wide range of cinematographers and photographers.

Very Excited for this news about the Black Magic Pocket Camera to begin shipping within days. Not surprised that there are delays on the 4K though, lets hope it doesn't turn into a long waiting game like the BMCC last year.

Will you be picking up either of these cameras? We have both on order and can't wait to see what they are capable of.
