Our fourth item today is an eccentric and highly original work that attempts to bridge geometry, human behavior, and natural law under a mathematical-mythological framework. Gilman's "Cyclotomy" system draws upon numerical systems, symbolism, speculative philosophy, and classical mythology and suggests a hidden order underlying all thought. The illustrations are dense and intricate, and the whole package, along with the Cold War-fear letters, stands firmly in the tradition of outsider mathematics and mid-century esoteric thought.
