With New York Fashion Week, it’s the perfect time at Sommwhere to highlight innovative designers we’ve hosted in our spaces, such as .peterdo — a Vietnamese-American fashion designer, former Creative Director of Helmut Lang and Owner + Creative Director of his eponymous label that launched in 2018.

He is known for transforming minimalist tailoring into a modern wardrobe staples—anchored in function, quality, and ethical production. He continues to define luxurious everyday clothing through his brand that is built on community and craftsmanship.

Earlier this year, Peter Do transformed 48 Ludlow into a week long cafe + pop up shop. The store featured one of ones, his quintessential, classic pieces and a limited edition collection, exclusively available at Sommwhere. From Japanese fabric development, to Italian shoemakers, to homemade Vietnamese treats, not a single detail was missed. The pop up was an incredibly special experience and a true success.

At Sommwhere, it’s all about the details. Few embody the joy that meticulous attention to detail can evoke like Na Hee Jung, curator of .house at 15 Essex our current artist resident.

Rainy Sunday Morning: is a concept store owned and curated by Na Hee, a “house for stories to gather, between Korean hands and yours.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The store features goods from 30+ Korean makers, hand picked and curated by Na Hee. Many of these products are available exclusively at 15 Essex and nowhere else in the U.S. You can shop ceramics, jewelry + accessories, home textiles + decor, and items from Sommwhere’s in-house line of Objects.

RSM is open from 12pm - 8pm until the 7th of September. Rain or shine, stop by for a complimentary in-store experience with Na Hee.

At Sommwhere, we work with chefs who understand, believe and feel aligned with our food philosophy, which centers around a zero waste approach using locally-sourced ingredients, with transparency at the forefront. All of our catering partners emphasize farm to table food with seasonally appropriate menus, served with Heart Part (biodegradable utensils) ultimately helping to reduce the carbon footprint of all meals served at Sommwhere.

This year, we celebrated Earth Day at 48 Ludlow where we hosted who teamed up with who brought our food philosophy to the fore with the talented leading the innovative menu + set design for the event.

After each event, part of our procedure is to give back to our community in the Lower East Side. We donate to the community fridge on Essex Street, repurpose leftovers, and share with folks at local shelters. We also just got a new lomi food composter.

We gathered with at 95 Rivington for a soulful Ceramics Ceremony in collaboration with —a celebration honoring women.

To ring in the Spring, we opened our doors at 48 Ludlow and welcomed (from the UK) to launch an immersive, two day activation focusing on their newest cruelty free products. A soft, minimalistic beauty experience inviting guests to enter the first REFY pop-up in the US.

REFY is vegan and animal cruelty free and believes in simplifying beauty, making it a natural fit for Sommwhere where we aim to elevate the everyday.
