Calling all Parents, Grand Parents, Aunties, Uncles, Mentors, Neighbors of College Bound Students in the NY/ NJ/ CT Tri-State Area, the 38th Annual HBCU College Fair is coming to Riverbank State Park on Saturday November, 15, 2025.

This is my Favorite event. By far. Seeing the Young Students show up prepared to meet with College recruiters. I’ve witnessed lives changed on the spot with students receiving acceptance into the school of their choice and blessed with scholarships.

Black Women told this country after the election they were tired, they were exhausted, they were putting their self care above the poison that had seeped in politics.

Last week I’ve heard their names tied to political violence that they had nothing to do with. Our Babies at HBCU’s were subjected to threats on their campuses.

LEAVE BLACK WOMEN ALONE!!!

They have nothing to do with any of this. No Black, Brown, Latino, Asian person has advocated violence against those we disagree with.

Let Auntie Maxine Waters reclaim her time. Leave Michelle Obama to go high while they go low. Her and her Brothers podcast is fire by the way. Kamala Harris told y’all but you voted on a singular issue when this country does not have a singular problem.

Leave us out of this. Leave Black Woman be as they take their rest.

All that was heard leading up to last night was the negativity about who this Young Man is, about who his Father is, and about the Quarterback, not just football player, that he is.

When we as mentors, leaders, parents, and role models say to those whose lives we’ve been entrusted with and influence, it does not matter what THEY say, here is the example. Our Young Men and Girls listen to the noise that affects them and their self esteem. This Young Man showed it doesn’t matter. He put in the work.

As a mentor to so many Young people, I have another example in my tool kit to help inspire. We must use this example not only for others but ourselves.

Their opinions of You don’t matter and they never did.
