Arthur Benjamin squares five-digit numbers in his head faster than you can find your subway fare. He makes algebra feel like a magic trick rather than a high school trauma. You might actually enjoy long division for once.
This is the Science Theater Companyβs latest run at Theater 555. It sits right on 42nd Street, which is a miserable place to be in the summer heat, but the air conditioning holds up. The show is tight, clever, and mercifully brief. If you have a math-phobe in your life, drag them here before August 16. It is a rare Off-Broadway win that leaves you smarter instead of just lighter in the wallet.
Skip it if you prefer your entertainment cynical and messy. Everyone else, consider this a palate cleanser for a brutal summer.
