FOR SALE $8,500 FREE SHIPPING ! The Ultimate MONSTER Pioneer SX-1980 ! This beast weighs in just over 78 lbs and puts out an incredible 270 WATTS PER CHANNEL ! This particular example was just cleaned, serviced and given a warm white LED backlight upgrade. We also went ahead and repainted the Top Metal grill in its original satin black finish, treated the walnut wood housing with walnut oil, cleaned all of the pots and switches and also rebuilt the entire power supply with new relays, new capacitors, new transistors, new diodes, and even installed a new power cord ! All voltages have been calibrated as well as a tuning alignment performed in coordination to the factory service manual. This piece looks and sounds absolutely incredible, while holding an incredibly rare, and historic title in the vintage receiver world !

A full AM/FM Tuning alignment has been performed, as well as calibration to factory service manual specs of the bias and DC Offset. Full Electrolytic recap of the power supply and voltage calibration. Full tone control board / preamplifier electrolytic recap + replacement of known bad transistors. Bench tested for 12 hours and in perfect working condition.

VU meters tested and working as shown, output is clear on one channel but distorted on the other at times. It is recommended an age related service should be completed prior to daily use. Both units just received a full service with all of their controls being cleaned with DeOxit and then lubrication. A full voltage calibration of the DC offset and bias, a full tuning alignment of AM. and FM, a warm white back lighting update to the main display with fuse bulbs and tuning meters.

Once completed, a full bench test was performed for both pieces where these two not only looks incredible, but sound incredible !
