Seidenberg Antiques

Seidenberg Antiques Family-owned since 1940, Seidenberg Antiques offers a curated selection of fine antiques and decorative arts. He opened a small shop at 99 Allen St.

In 1940, a 28-year old David Seidenberg, whose father had been an antique dealer in Frankfurt, Germany arrived in New York. on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The rent was $50 per month, an amount that left him with more than sufficient funds to stock his shop with fine 18th and 19th century antiques. Over time, the business flourished. His customers included political and royal personages, cura

tors, collectors, decorators and those with discerning taste who wanted to add a special item to their home. Since 1940 however some things have changed. The business now occupies a 5000 square foot storefront at 36 East 12th St. in Manhattan, meticulously appointed to showcase the fine antiques (the rent has slightly increased as well). Locations may change but some things remain the same. David Seidenberg’s son, Jack, and his son, David, strongly adhere to the credo set up in 1940 by their father and grandfather – offer the best quality regardless of price point and deal with integrity with the goal of establishing long-term relationships.
