Dear Marine Park,
Thank you for 26 wonderful years of your patronage, support, friendship, and loyalty. It has truly been our pleasure to serve you!
After 57 years in business, Fabrics Save-A-Thon has made the incredibly difficult decision to close our last remaining location at 2452 Flatbush Avenue. This will be the end of an era for our family and for so many of the customers who have walked through our doors over the years.
What started as a family business in 1969 grew into what was once one of the largest independent fabric and craft store chains in New York, with 12 locations throughout the five boroughs. For generations, we had the privilege of helping New Yorkers bring their ideas to life — from sewing and quilting to knitting, crafts, decorating, weddings, costumes, school projects, and so much more.
Our Marine Park store has been especially meaningful to us. This three-floor location has been our flagship and our home in the community for 26 years. We have watched families grow, welcomed generations of customers, and shared in countless projects, celebrations, and creative endeavors.
And now, it is time to say goodbye.
We know that for many of you, Fabrics Save-A-Thon is more than just a store. It is where you came for that perfect fabric, found the buttons you couldn't find anywhere else, picked up supplies for a child's school project, searched for yarn, planned a wedding or celebration, or simply came in to browse and left with an idea for your next project.
We will always treasure the memories you have given us.
To everyone who ever shopped with us, worked with us, recommended us to a friend, or simply stopped in to say hello — thank you. Thank you for allowing our family business to be part of your lives for 57 years.
We will miss seeing your faces. We will miss the conversations, the creativity, and the wonderful people who made this place special.
