My Grampy’s 90th Birthday! Born and raised in Houston’s Fifth Ward my Grampy is, simply put, an icon. The best part about my Grampy is 1) his love of ice cream and 2) how present he’s been in all our lives. ❤️

For the big day I made this collage of some of the family - parents, siblings, children, grandchildren, great grandchild, and of course Grampy himself. I also made the welcome sign wish was fun, my sister gave me the idea!

I love creating for moments like this. I love celebrating family. We love Grampy!

Enjoy this painting, En La Mitad del Mundo 🇪🇨 A meeting of two of my worlds - the rich Ecuadorian culture I was raised in and the place I find myself today - an artist in NYC. From Houston TX to New York. There is a surprisingly rich Ecuadorian presence in New York City and New Jersey. My people are always with me!

DREAM OF WHAT YOU’LL BE WHEN YOU GROW UP
Chevalier 2025

This piece was inspired by something that my parents used to say to me and my siblings when we were about to go to bed. My father actually used to say it a lot, I wonder if he remembers that for himself.

Some nights, when I lay my head on my pillow to rest, this phrase comes to me and that echo of inspiration is back right before I wonder off into the night.

Do you still dream? I’m 30 and still dream of a beautiful life and world ahead of me.
