PRESENTING ⛓Heidi Lau’s porcelain & chainmail accessories line⛓ featuring a chainmail harness, choker, and protective talisman ❤️‍🔥

For Heidi's () first collaboration with Wing on Wo, Heidi crystallizes the symbols and ideas from her larger body of work to envision a world with no hierarchy, and with irresolvable entanglement with the past 💛

⛓These wearable sculptures not only foreground the body but also restrain, generate and embellish us within our environment, thus blurring the boundaries between human and objecthood 🥺

overwhelmed with gratitude for this feature in earlier this month by Claire Wang 🥺 felt like a rare offering to pause and take part in a moment of reflection together about the past 6 years since recommitting to
breathing new life into our beloved fam living room 😭 and to reground in our North Star of continuing to keep Wing on Wo as a space for our elders to age in place and for us to convene as a family 💓

🌀Inspired by K-Ming’s myth Infinite Beginnings, which guides you through the interconnected worlds of air, water, and earth, these prompts will ground you in an interior journey of personal growth, while also expanding outwards to reflect on community, safety, and in/visibility🌀

📦an update on our spring shipment📦

🐌 our final leg of our biggest shipment to date is coming in this week and we are feeling v much like our tea-set producer — strapping on our hard hats and getting ready to haul 💪🍑👷🏻‍♀️🍑💪

This year marks our 3rd year of remote sourcing with at the helm of making this whole WeChat sourcing operation work 😭 last year presented a whole host of new challenges with supply chain issues while this year similarly — with inflation and the global economy slowing at large — we’ve seen how all of these factors have slowed our production process in jingdezhen 🥲

🌊we are trying to do our best in staying nimble and flexible in the midst of change 🐛we are holding onto our shop Fu dogs extra tight as lil protectors in this mini tornado 💙 and wanted to offer in light of their restock and arrival (this week!!) the option of preordering them :)))

Join us as Wing on Wo and presents ✨🌫INFINITE BEGINNINGS🌫✨ a mythical narrative by writer turned breathtaking visual parable 🥺Illustrated by .hon , Infinite Beginnings is Wing on Wo’s very own visual publication presenting an allegorical thangka that grounds the viewer in a mythical journey of self-inquisition paired with prompts for self reflection. Inspired by K-Ming’s surreal world of possibility, the viewer is shown the breadth of self-survival in the world of water, fire, earth, and sky, and the ways we find glimmers of power and strength through moments of struggle and doubt, expansion and collapse much like how we move in our everyday.

✨Our August 27th✨program will include a reading of K-Ming’s narrative, and a portal into this mythical world of grounding and transformation through a Qi Gong movement workshop by , and a rest and collective dreaming space featuring ceramic pillows by ceramicist ☁️☁️ spots are limited!! 💙so thrilled to share this upcoming showcase featuring our very own WOW mama and ‘s capsule collection, 八寶粥 Ba Bao Zhou, made up of simple, wearable garments inspired by the everyday abundance of Chinatown 🥺🥹😭

Their creative process piloted a way of designing and constructing clothing that centered intergenerational collaboration and learning led by a central question: ❣️how can we make clothes in a way which sustains our community? ❣️

🤍porcelain patterns of the diaspora 💙 kicking off a new weekly series sharing the history and evolution of porcelain patterns that have been staples of WOW porcelain inventory since Po’s heyday 💓 these patterns carry not only their own cultural and historical contexts, but also the stories and records of people & places they have encountered and connected with 🥺

LING LONG or otherwise commonly known as rice grain pattern 🍚 is often in a radial pattern on its form to imitate flower petals accompanied by leafy basal borders, bat & I-ching upper borders, chrysanthemum flower mounds, or dragons stamped in the bowl, teacup, or plate base 🦇 Some believe the bat & I-ching border is actually a bat and 工 (gōng) border, indicating the working class who in fact was responsible for making and producing these bowls in mass ✊
