What’s your favorite instrument? 🎻🌬️🎹🥁

From clapping hands and tapping feet to beatboxing and whistling, the human body is a musical instrument. Musical instruments, in turn, often draw their form and decoration from our bodies.

“Musical Bodies” is the first major exhibition to explore the relationship between musical instruments and the body by bringing together some 130 instruments, paintings, sculptures, drawings, and more to illuminate how we express who we are, what we value, and what we believe.

Get a first look at product inspired by this exhibition, available now through the link in bio and at The Met Fifth Avenue.

“Musical Bodies” is on view through September 27 at The Met Fifth Avenue.

Our lambswool sweater features Vincent van Gogh’s (Dutch, 1853–1890) iconic irises in bloom. Just before his departure from the Saint-Rémy asylum in May of 1890, the artist created four radiant spring bouquets, including the exuberant “Irises” (1890) in the Museum’s collection of European paintings.

Van Gogh sought to achieve a “harmonious and soft” effect by placing the “violet” flowers against a “pink background,” but owing to his use of fugitive red pigments, these colors have since faded.

Our postcard pack celebrates “Costume Art,” the spring 2026 exhibition exploring the connection between clothing and the body. Drawing on The Met’s vast collection, the exhibition pairs garments with works of art to show how clothing shapes identity, creativity, and self-expression across time and cultures.

Introducing the Tory Burch Reclining N**e Silk Scarf designed exclusively for The Met in celebration of The Costume Institute’s spring 2026 exhibition, “Costume Art.” The black-and-ivory motif—which first appeared on an embellished coat in Burch’s Fall/Winter 2026 runway show—revisits the classic n**e, depicting a woman relaxing in nature. In 100% silk with hand-rolled edges, the scarf is digitally printed on both sides with Burch’s signature at the corner.

Inspired by the lush colors of Monet’s “Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies” (1899), the Hape x The Met kaleidoscope lets little ones take a journey into a world of color and shapes. Just hold it up to your eye and turn the end to create a never-ending array of beautiful patterns.
