It's America's birthday but we're busy celebrating the 20th-ish anniversary edition of Funeral Diner's "The Underdark" which just landed via Repeater Records! We got a grip of the colored vinyl version. Yes, that is me on bass. Yes, I'm wearing my own band's shirt. -Ben

Hey folks - some sad news to share today: we are closing our Brooklyn Record Exchange Bushwick location at 599 Johnson Ave at the end of this month. Our last day open there will be Sunday March 30th.

For us it was a once-in-a-lifetime dream come true to open that shop and we’re immensely proud of the store we built. We're lucky to have had some great years there running the kind of record store we love and believe in, and even luckier to have had the best employees we could have asked for. And that aspect hurts the most, but the harsh reality is that it’s become unviable to continue on at that location despite significant effort on our part for the last few years. If we're to be candid, we'd have to admit that seeing our shop go is also a sad reminder of how vibrant Brooklyn and NYC in general used to be. We'll miss being part of whatever culture is left.

The good news is that our Greenpoint location will remain open, so this isn’t the end! To all of our Bushwick regulars - we hope to see you in Greenpoint and thanks for hanging with us. Watch this space for some additional news about moving sales and whatnot! Sincerely, Mike, Ben and the BREX team.

GOOD MORNING BUSHWICK! It’s 45 Friday and we have got some goodies for ya! Tons of uncommonly clean Reggae / Soul / Funk out in the shop now and a lot more to come over the weekend.
