Bureau of General Services-Queer Division The Bureau is an independent, all-volunteer q***r bookstore & cultural center We rely on sales and donations to cover our operating expenses.

The Bureau of General Services—Q***r Division is an independent organization with no paid staff—we are entirely run and staffed by volunteers. The money we make from sales goes right back into the project. Please support the Bureau with a recurring monthly donation or a one-time donation in order to help us continue to provide you with a great selection of q***r books, magazines, zines, art works, and events! The Bureau is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the purposes of the Bureau of General Services—Q***r Division (BGSQD), are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Our event with Barbara Carrellas is happening next week! Thank you for your patience while we rescheduled. Join us at the Bureau in Manhattan for a conversation about opening up our erotic energy with author Barbara Carrellas and her partner, q***r icon Kate Bornstein, to celebrate the launch of Barbara’s new book.

After the conversation there will be time for Barbara to sign copies of The Book of Ecstasy, which will be available for purchase at the Bureau!

Benoit will be joined by Sarah Schulman for a discussion on the five experimental clinics that Benoit examines in the book, and how these case studies can reimagine the clinic as a living, evolving practice rooted in care, resistance, and collective imagination. From the team behind the international Cruising Pavilion project comes a new book that brings together artists, architects, writers, and researchers to look at cruising as a q***r spatial and social practice.

How have q***r people occupied, invented, and transformed parks, streets, public restrooms, bars, bathhouses, s*x clubs, and, more recently, digital spaces? Join us as we discuss the histories of q***r communities, desire, visibility, secrecy, and the right to inhabit the city differently.

⚡️ This book is based on a curatorial project on the architecture of gay s*x and cruising culture. It was initiated in 2018 by Pierre-Alexandre Mateos, Rasmus Myrup, Octave Perrault, and Charles Teyssou. The first edition took place during the 16th Venice Architecture Biennale. In 2019, the exhibit came to New York City.

Cruising Pavilion believes that public s*x remains a laboratory for political futures and spaces. So do we. Join us for this fascinating discussion.
